Will GTA 5 Release on PS4? Perhaps sometime in 2014

Future PlayStation 4 owners got really excited when Sony mentioned on twitter that GTA 5 will be coming to the upcoming PS4 console. Sony later said it was a mistake, stating that it will be releasing on the PS3 platform instead. Judging from what Rockstar Games have done in the past for the GTA franchise, and how well will GTA5 receive on the Xbox 360 and PS4, releasing on the PS4 and PC platforms might be a reality sometime in 2014.

PlayStation 4 Preorders a Huge Success for Sony

According to Sony, the amount of PlayStation 4 preorders has been a overwhelming success, exceeding well over one million units. This is likely due to a lower price point than its competitor, Xbox One, which sells for $100 more than a PS4. Microsoft have not revealed preorder figures as of yet, but we would guess it should be a very close race due to the amount of fans that is currently using Xbox Live service, which will be carried over onto the Xbox One console.

Bethesda Don’t Want Xbox Live Gold Fee for Elder Scrolls Online

Bethesda, game publisher for the upcoming MMORPG, Elder Scrolls Online, is trying to sway Microsoft to drop their Xbox Live Gold membership fee on top of their $15 monhtly subscription fee for the game. The current Xbox Live Gold membership fee is around $5 per month, so that means fans could pay up to $20 a month to play Elder Scrolls Online. In our opinion, dropping the Live gold membership fee probably won’t happen, because that means they would have to drop it for every other game that uses the Gold membership service.

The Elder Scrolls Online is stated to release early 2014, on the PC, Xbox One, and PS4.

Ubisoft believes PS Vita and Wii U still have potential to succeed

Ubisoft’s executive director Alain Corre have recently stated that he believes both the PS Vita and Wii U still have room for growth, and gain a mass following. Corre has been pleased that Sony did announce a price cut for PS Vita, which are now available for around $200US. The price cut should be able to gather more handheld fans to purchase more of their hardware and software in the Vita family. Wii U, on the other hand, might have a harder time due to the increased competition of the next-generation consoles that is coming out later this year. Ubisoft believes that Wii U still have the potential to sell to the consumers in the future due to exclusive IPs such as Mario and Lengend of Zelda series.
